About the game · App Store (coming soon)

Bug, question or lost progress? Email us and we'll reply within 48 hours (usually sooner):

Please include Ore Rail, your device and iOS version (e.g. iPhone 15, iOS 18), and your backup code from Settings (gear icon) → Cloud backup tab if your question is about progress.

Playing
How do I play?

Hold anywhere to drive your mine-cart train around the track. It digs up the ore it passes and fills its carts. Roll over the depot to sell, spend coins on upgrades, and clear the whole layer to descend to the next, richer one.

What carries over when I descend?

Coins and basic upgrades reset each layer, but your gear (the collectible mining suit) and gems are permanent. Chests drop equipment cards that level your gear up for good.

How do challenges work?

You get four daily challenges and six weekly ones, scaled to how deep you are. Clear a whole board to open its all-clear chest for gems and gear cards.

Progress & cloud backup
How is my progress saved?

Ore Rail saves on your iPhone automatically as you play, and regularly backs up a copy to our cloud server. The backup is tagged only with a random backup code, with no account, Apple ID, email or sign-in involved.

To see your code, open Settings (gear icon) → Cloud backup tab and tap Show my backup code. Screenshot it or write it down somewhere safe; it's the key to your save.

I deleted the app. Can I get my progress back?

Yes, with your backup code. Deleting the app removes the save from your iPhone, but your cloud backup stays on our server. Reinstall Ore Rail, open Settings (gear icon) → Cloud backup tab, choose Restore from a cloud code and enter the code you saved.

Tip: copy your code before you delete the app or switch phones. Automatic restore is coming to Ore Rail in a future update.

How do I move my progress to a new iPhone?
  1. On your old device, open Settings (gear icon) → Cloud backup tab and copy your backup code.
  2. Install Ore Rail on the new device and open Settings (gear icon) → Cloud backup tab.
  3. Choose Restore from a cloud code and paste the code.

Restoring replaces whatever progress is on the new device with your backup.

I lost my backup code. What now?

If Ore Rail is still installed, the code is always in Settings (gear icon) → Cloud backup tab. Otherwise, email us with roughly how far you got and when you last played. Because backups aren't linked to any identity, we can't always find a save without its code, but we'll do our best.

Notifications
Does Ore Rail send notifications?

No. Ore Rail doesn't send any notifications.

Ads, tracking & privacy
Do I have to watch ads?

No. Video ads in Ore Rail are always optional: you choose to watch one in return for a bonus, such as dynamite, super-speed, 5× power, 5× coins, auto-drive, or doubled offline earnings. There are no pop-up ads that interrupt play. A small banner ad may also appear at the edge of the screen. Ads are served by Google AdMob.

What is the tracking prompt, and how do I change my answer?

iOS may ask whether Ore Rail can track your activity across other apps and websites. This only affects whether ads can be personalized; the game is exactly the same either way. If you choose Ask App Not to Track, you'll see non-personalized ads.

To change your choice later, open the iPhone Settings app → Privacy & Security → Tracking and switch Ore Rail on or off.

What data do you collect?

There are no accounts, and we don't ask for your name, email, contacts or location. Ore Rail sends your game progress and a few gameplay and diagnostic events to our server, tagged only with your random backup code. Ads are served by Google AdMob, which receives device and ad-interaction data to show and measure ads (and your advertising identifier only if you allow tracking). Full details are in our Privacy Policy, and you can manage your choices on the Privacy Choices page.

Purchases
Are there in-app purchases?

No. Ore Rail has no in-app purchases. Everything is earned by playing.

Leaderboards & Game Center
How does the leaderboard work?

Ore Rail uses two Game Center leaderboards: a daily board (levels mined out today) and a weekly board for the deepest dig.

Why can't I see the leaderboard or my score?

Leaderboards use Apple's Game Center, so you need to be signed in: open the iPhone Settings app → Game Center and sign in with your Apple ID. Then reopen Ore Rail. You can play normally without Game Center; your scores just won't be posted. Your Game Center nickname is what other players see.

Deleting your data
How do I delete my data?

Deleting Ore Rail removes all game data stored on your iPhone. To also delete your cloud backup, email your backup code (from Settings (gear icon) → Cloud backup tab) to [email protected] with the subject Delete my data. We'll delete the backup and the anonymous events tied to that code and confirm by email.
