[email protected]Please include Deep Shaft, your device and iOS version (e.g. iPhone 15, iOS 18), and your backup code from Settings (gear icon) → Cloud Backup if your question is about progress.
Tap the rock face to mine by hand, or buy a Foreman to automate a level. The elevator collects full ore carts and hauls them up to the Refinery to sell. Level up each seam for faster mining, richer ore and bigger loads.
Mine enough above a sealed bulkhead, then pay to breach it. Each 100m opens a new seam with richer ore. From version 1.1.0 the shaft continues past the Core into endless, procedurally generated depths.
A Deep Reset restarts your mine in exchange for Bedrock Cores. Spend them in The Foundry on permanent upgrades, such as a bigger Hoist or a better-paying Refinery, that boost every future run.
Yes. Automated levels earn offline income while the app is closed, and you can collect it when you come back.
Deep Shaft saves on your iPhone automatically as you play, and regularly backs up a copy to our cloud server. The backup is tagged only with a random backup code, with no account, Apple ID, email or sign-in involved.
To see your code, open Settings (gear icon) → Cloud Backup and tap Show my backup code. Screenshot it or write it down somewhere safe; it's the key to your save.
Yes, with your backup code. Deleting the app removes the save from your iPhone, but your cloud backup stays on our server. Reinstall Deep Shaft, open Settings (gear icon) → Cloud Backup, choose Restore from a code and enter the code you saved.
Tip: copy your code before you delete the app or switch phones. Automatic restore is coming to Deep Shaft in a future update.
Restoring replaces whatever progress is on the new device with your backup.
If Deep Shaft is still installed, the code is always in Settings (gear icon) → Cloud Backup. Otherwise, email us with roughly how far you got and when you last played. Because backups aren't linked to any identity, we can't always find a save without its code, but we'll do our best.
Deep Shaft (version 1.1.0 and later) can send an occasional reminder to come back, for example when you have rewards or earnings waiting. These are scheduled on your iPhone itself; they aren't used for advertising or tracking. It asks for permission after you've played for a bit, never the moment you open the app, and the game works the same if you say no.
Open the iPhone Settings app → Notifications → Deep Shaft and turn off Allow Notifications. You can turn them back on the same way.
No. Video ads in Deep Shaft are always optional: you choose to watch one in return for a bonus, such as doubled offline earnings or a bonus reward offer. There are no pop-up ads that interrupt play. A small banner ad may also appear at the edge of the screen. Ads are served by Google AdMob.
iOS may ask whether Deep Shaft can track your activity across other apps and websites. This only affects whether ads can be personalized; the game is exactly the same either way. If you choose Ask App Not to Track, you'll see non-personalized ads.
To change your choice later, open the iPhone Settings app → Privacy & Security → Tracking and switch Deep Shaft on or off.
There are no accounts, and we don't ask for your name, email, contacts or location. Deep Shaft sends your game progress and a few gameplay and diagnostic events to our server, tagged only with your random backup code. Ads are served by Google AdMob, which receives device and ad-interaction data to show and measure ads (and your advertising identifier only if you allow tracking). Full details are in our Privacy Policy, and you can manage your choices on the Privacy Choices page.
No. Deep Shaft has no in-app purchases. Everything is earned by playing.
Deep Shaft uses a weekly Game Center leaderboard (from version 1.1.0). The week's top earners win Geodes.
Leaderboards use Apple's Game Center, so you need to be signed in: open the iPhone Settings app → Game Center and sign in with your Apple ID. Then reopen Deep Shaft. You can play normally without Game Center; your scores just won't be posted. Your Game Center nickname is what other players see.
Deleting Deep Shaft removes all game data stored on your iPhone. To also delete your cloud backup, email your backup code (from Settings (gear icon) → Cloud Backup) to [email protected] with the subject Delete my data. We'll delete the backup and the anonymous events tied to that code and confirm by email.
