Core Tap Support

About the game ยท App Store (coming soon)

Bug, question or lost progress? Email us and we'll reply within 48 hours (usually sooner):

Please include Core Tap, your device and iOS version (e.g. iPhone 15, iOS 18), and your backup code from Settings (gear icon) โ†’ Cloud Backup if your question is about progress.

Playing
How do I play?

Tap the dirt to dig. What you dig fills your haul (it starts as a bucket and grows from there); tap SELL to turn it into cash. Spend cash on new tools in the TOOLS tab and on leveled upgrades in BOOSTS. From power tools onward, your tools dig on their own. Tap quickly to build the combo meter, and spend Fresh Arms, a pool of ร—3 taps that refills over 24 hours.

What's the goal?

Dig about 1 quadrillion lb of dirt: a shaft all the way to the center of the Earth, 6,371 km down. On the way you pass 13 layers: Topsoil, Clay, Gravel, Bedrock, Granite, the Moho, Upper Mantle, Transition Zone, Lower Mantle, the D'' Layer, Outer Core, Inner Core and The Core. Each deeper layer sells for more.

What are boosts and the Dirt Broker?

Boosts are leveled support upgrades: Bigger Haul (a bigger haul), Muscle (more dirt per tap), Dig Crew (helpers), Dirt Market (a better sell price), Lucky Clods (ร—5 jackpot taps) and Diesel Tune (faster machine auto-dig). The Dirt Broker is a one-time hire that sells your haul automatically, so your machines keep digging while you're away.

Does it earn while I'm away?

Yes, once you have an auto-digging tool and the Dirt Broker. Your machines keep digging while the app is closed, for up to 12 hours (the cap can be extended), and you collect it when you come back.

What is a Core Sample (prestige)?

Taking a Core Sample restarts your dig in exchange for Core Sample points (โ—†). Spend them in the 36-node Core tree, which has six branches: grip and tap power, engines and auto-dig, market, logistics, throughput and head start. Later runs dig much faster.

Can I replay the tutorial?

Yes. The first-session tutorial takes under a minute and has a SKIP button. You can replay it any time from Settings (gear icon) โ†’ Replay tutorial.

Finds, crates & gear
What are Finds?

Finds are 49 buried treasures, such as an Old Penny, a Roman Coin, a Mammoth Bone or a Pirate Doubloon, spread across 12 layer sets. Complete a layer's set for a permanent bonus: more digging, a better sell price, a bigger haul, a higher jackpot chance, a longer offline cap, more crew or faster auto-dig. Track them in the FINDS tab.

How do I get Crate Keys?

Crate Keys are earned only, by playing: the first dig of each day, digging itself (up to 3 keys a day from digging), reaching each layer for the first time, achievements, Survey Contracts and the Expedition, and optional supply-drop ad bubbles. Core Tap has no in-app purchases, so keys can't be bought.

What are the crate odds?

Open crates in the GEAR tab. The odds are shown on each crate before you open it:

Are there any guarantees?

Yes, two:

Meters on each crate show your progress toward its guarantee.

How does gear work?

There are 35 pieces of gear in 5 slots (Helmet, Gloves, Boots, Lantern and Charm), from Common to Legendary. Gear boosts things like tap power, auto-dig, sell price, Find chance, key drops, combo time and 2ร— POWER time. Duplicates level up the gear you already own.

Goals & achievements
How do Survey Contracts and the Expedition work?

The GOALS tab has four daily Survey Contracts (one easy, two medium, one hard) and a weekly Expedition of six legs that you complete one at a time. The Expedition resets on Monday, and finishing it opens the Expedition Cache. Both pay cash and Crate Keys, and playing each day builds a streak bonus.

How do achievements work?

There are 12 achievements, each with four tiers (I to IV): Tapper, Dirt Mover, Deep Diver, Explorer, Dirt Tycoon, Tool Collector, Sampler, Collector, Set Completer, Combo King, Regular and Streak. Tier III unlocks a title you can equip, such as Core Diver or Museum Director. Rewards are cash, Crate Keys and, at tier IV, Core Sample points.

Progress & cloud backup
How is my progress saved?

Core Tap saves on your iPhone automatically as you play, and regularly backs up a copy to our cloud server. The backup is tagged only with a random backup code, with no account, Apple ID, email or sign-in involved.

Your code is shown in Settings (gear icon) โ†’ Cloud Backup. Screenshot it or write it down somewhere safe; it's the key to your save.

I deleted the app. Can I get my progress back?

Yes. Core Tap keeps your backup code in your iPhone's Keychain, which survives deleting the app. Reinstall Core Tap on the same iPhone (or on a new iPhone restored from a backup of the old one) and, on first launch, it finds your cloud save and restores it automatically. You need an internet connection for this.

It never overwrites progress that's already on the device. If nothing is restored automatically, use your backup code as described below.

How do I move my progress to a new iPhone?
  1. On your old device, open Settings (gear icon) โ†’ Cloud Backup and copy your backup code.
  2. Install Core Tap on the new device and open Settings (gear icon) โ†’ Cloud Backup.
  3. Type the code into the box, tap Restore, then tap Confirm.

Restoring replaces whatever progress is on the new device with your backup.

I lost my backup code. What now?

If Core Tap is still installed, the code is always in Settings (gear icon) โ†’ Cloud Backup. If you reinstalled on the same iPhone, automatic restore uses the code saved in your Keychain, so you may not need it. Otherwise, email us with roughly how far you got and when you last played. Because backups aren't linked to any identity, we can't always find a save without its code, but we'll do our best.

Notifications
What notifications does Core Tap send?

Core Tap can send occasional comeback reminders, for example when your crew's haul is full or new daily contracts are ready. They're scheduled on your iPhone itself (there's no push server) and aren't used for advertising or tracking. Reminders are opt-in: the game only asks after you get your first power tool, never when you first open the app, and it works the same if you say no.

How do I turn notifications off?

In the game, open Settings (gear icon) โ†’ Notifications and switch Comeback reminders off. Or open the iPhone Settings app โ†’ Notifications โ†’ Core Tap and turn off Allow Notifications.

Ads, tracking & privacy
Do I have to watch ads?

No. Video ads in Core Tap are always optional: you choose to watch one in return for a bonus, such as 2ร— POWER (double tap power for 5 minutes, stacking up to 30 minutes) or a supply drop of cash or a Crate Key. There are no pop-up ads that interrupt play. A small banner ad may also appear at the edge of the screen. Ads are served by Google AdMob.

What is the tracking prompt, and how do I change my answer?

iOS may ask whether Core Tap can track your activity across other apps and websites. This only affects whether ads can be personalized; the game is exactly the same either way. If you choose Ask App Not to Track, you'll see non-personalized ads.

To change your choice later, open the iPhone Settings app โ†’ Privacy & Security โ†’ Tracking and switch Core Tap on or off.

Why do I see a consent form about ads?

If you're in the EU/EEA, the UK or Switzerland, Core Tap first shows Google's consent form so you can choose how your data is used for ads. After that, iOS may show Apple's tracking prompt. If you decline, you'll see non-personalized ads; the game works the same either way.

To change your consent choices later, open Settings (gear icon) โ†’ Privacy choices in the game (where required in your region). Ads in Core Tap are limited to all-ages (G-rated) content.

What data do you collect?

There are no accounts, and we don't ask for your name, email, contacts or location. Core Tap sends your game progress and a few gameplay and diagnostic events to our server, tagged only with your random backup code. Ads are served by Google AdMob, which receives device and ad-interaction data to show and measure ads (and your advertising identifier only if you allow tracking). Full details are in our Privacy Policy, and you can manage your choices on the Privacy Choices page.

Purchases
Are there in-app purchases?

No. Core Tap has no in-app purchases. Everything is earned by playing.

Leaderboards & Game Center
How does the leaderboard work?

Core Tap uses the Game Center Weekly Taps leaderboard, which ranks your taps for the week and resets weekly. Open it from GOALS โ†’ RANKS. It's for bragging rights only; there are no prizes for rank.

Why can't I see the leaderboard or my score?

Leaderboards use Apple's Game Center, so you need to be signed in: open the iPhone Settings app โ†’ Game Center and sign in with your Apple ID. Then reopen Core Tap. You can play normally without Game Center; your scores just won't be posted. Your Game Center nickname is what other players see.

Deleting your data
How do I delete my data?

Deleting Core Tap removes all game data stored on your iPhone. To also delete your cloud backup, email your backup code (from Settings (gear icon) โ†’ Cloud Backup) to [email protected] with the subject Delete my data. We'll delete the backup and the anonymous events tied to that code and confirm by email.
